Florida has implemented portions of the Lead & Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) and intends to follow the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI). At this time, the Florida Department of Environmental Project (DEP) does not have rules or require additional resources above and beyond what is required under the LCRR. Key components for Florida CWS’s and NTNCW’s to follow include:
- Developing a Water Service Line Material Inventory
- Including information on how to access the Inventory on Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs)
- Completing Tier 1 Notice requirements in the event of a Lead Action Level Exceedance
In January 2024, the Florida DEP released a detailed summary, the Submission of Information for Service Line Inventories under the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, which provides guidance for systems on completing their Service Line Inventories and maintaining compliance with the LCRR requirements.
For more information on lead service lines in Florida, systems can visit the DEP’s website or coordinate with their District directly.
